The Algorithm for Successful Life

THE SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS OF SUCCESS
by
Deepak Chopra
A day for reading
I have a problem with book reading. I generally read only technical or popular science books. With my limited interest in reading books of other genre, I pick one very carefully. One of the criteria for such choice is my estimate on time to finish the book and nonetheless the topic I want to strengthen at that particular occasion. If I were given a day to read a book from its start to its end, the book has to be small in number of pages, author's style of writing should be penetrative, and a selective subject I feel needed for that day!
One such day was today and the book was "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" by Deepak Chopra. This book has successfully passed all the screening tests I performed during my fifteen minute walk through a bunch of shelves at the Plano Public Library. I usually get caffeine flowing with my reading but in Haggard public library drinks and food are not allowed inside. I was already getting negative signals about completion of the book. But I started reading it anyway. I liked the content of the book as I picked up pace. It took two enjoyable reading sessions sandwiching lunch at Subway and I finished the book by the library closing time (though I had to rush a little towards the end).
A flavor of the content of the book is given here by the same author. After explaining each law, the author gave methods of fulfillment of each law in three easy to follow steps written in first person voice. I decided quickly to jot them down for my own purpose (and that is how I started this blog) as they collectively sounded like a well defined algorithm for leading a successful life.
